Chelsea Laser & Aesthetics opened in 2005 in Chelsea, Michigan, specializing in laser and non-surgical aesthetic medicine and skin care.
Founded by Dr. Diane Howlin, the Chelsea Laser & Aesthetics team of providers partnered with Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center (CSLC) /RegenCen in 2023.

Founders & Providers
Dr. Gustav Lo, MD, is the Chief Medical Officer and Founder of RegenCen and Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center (CSLC) which he established in 2001 with Courtney Lo, PA. With over 30 years of experience as a physician and a passion for innovation, Dr. Lo has transformed CSLC and RegenCen into a nationally recognized medical practice focused on optimizing healthspan.
Early in his career, Dr. Lo founded Northern Michigan MedCenter, a network of primary care and urgent care centers that he operated for 30 years, during which time the centers provided care to over 1 million patients. His leadership and experience in primary care continue to inform his holistic approach to health and wellness at RegenCen/CSLC.
Driven by his passion for optimizing healthspan and lifespan, Dr. Lo founded RegenCen in 2020, a division of CSLC. At RegenCen he leads and trains a dedicated team of medical professionals in bioidentical hormone therapy, regenerative treatments for arthritis, mobility and pain like PRF injections, NAD+ therapy, and comprehensive weight loss solution. Dr. Lo remains deeply engaged in every aspect of clinical practice and deeply committed to educating and helping women through midlife and menopause. Spreading the word one community at a time, he enjoys giving lectures, empowering women and sharing clinical proof of BHRT.
Dr. Lo is renowned for offering innovative, nonsurgical cosmetic treatments such as Smartlipo laser-assisted liposuction, nonsurgical facelifts using FaceTite, Laser Lift, and Thread Lift, as well as comprehensive body contouring solutions. His meticulous approach has allowed him to perform thousands of liposuction procedures and minimally invasive FaceTite and Laser Lifts.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Lo is a father of four, an avid reader, has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and loves scuba diving.
Courtney Lo, PA, is a renowned leader in the aesthetics industry and the visionary CEO and Founder of Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center (CSLC), established in 2001 with Gustav Lo, MD. With over two decades of experience, Courtney seamlessly combines her medical expertise with an artistic eye, transforming CSLC into a nationally recognized aesthetic and regenerative medical practice.
Known for her unwavering dedication to clients and passion for empowering women, Courtney inspires a dedicated team of skilled providers committed to helping individuals in Michigan and Florida achieve their optimal appearance and health. Under her leadership, CSLC has consistently set the standard for excellence in aesthetic services, earning prestigious accolades such as being the first Platinum Level Botox and Juvederm Provider in northern Michigan since 2004.
CSLC pioneered multiple services in Michigan including BodyTite, PRF, and regenerative aesthetics. Her commitment to innovation led to co-founding RegenCen in 2020, a secondary brand of CSLC devoted to menopause treatments, hormone balancing, vaginal rejuvenation, weight loss and regenerative medicine. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Courtney is a devoted mother, a scuba diver and passionate cook. Her modern blended family brings her immense joy. Katherine specializes in brow lifts, the dreaded ‘11s’, crows feet, lip flips and reversing signs of aging with discreet yet effective use of fillers in the cheeks, chin, hands and lips. After training under Dr Howlin, I follow her ‘less is more’ philosophy, with natural and stunning results.
She also offers health and wellness coaching. This is a physician led, science based “Optavia” program addressing life long changes in health habits. We focus on achieving optimal health: healthy weight, balanced nutrition, increased energy and sleep quality while reducing inflammation.
Kat is originally from New Zealand but recently relocated from Colorado with her husband and two boys to be closer to family. Kat and her family are loving all that Michigan has to offer, particularly in the summer!
Aynsley Vanderkarr is a physician assistant and graduated from Central Michigan University. Aynsley has worked in emergency medicine, urgent care, and now in aesthetic medicine. Aynsley is certified in injectables including neurotoxin and filler, and is furthering her training at Chelsea Laser & Aesthetics. Outside of work she enjoys being active and spending time with her husband, family, and German shepherds. She loves to travel and especially loves camping.
Kayla Patnode, PA-C, our CSLC and RegenCen Master Provider, graduated with her Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in health promotion from Michigan State University. She graduated from Mary Baldwin University, Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences with Masters in Physician Assistant Studies.
She worked previously worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at a nursing home and rehabilitation facility in Lansing, MI and as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a dermatology office in Novi, MI. Kayla completed a PA school rotation in Lansing, MI where she was trained in treating varicose veins, acne, and hormone replacement therapy.
Kayla enjoys helping patients feel more confident and assisting with making their “ideal self” match what they see in the mirror. She loves our regenerative services for helping patients continue to feel like themselves as they move through the journey of life.
Outside of the office, you'll find Kayla waterskiing (she competed on the Michigan State University waterski team for 4 years and was the first female to serve as men’s captain of the team), disc golf, hiking, and camping.
Medical & Surgical Assistants, Phlebotomists
Holly Darcy is our Aesthetic Consultant, Laser Tech, MA and Modality Trainer. She is certified in multiple laser treatments and skilled in radiofrequency, ultrasound, chemical peels and microdermabrasion.
She provides expert computerized skin analysis, skin care treatments, laser consults, and procedures. She is an expert on improving skin quality, whether the issue is acne, aging, pigment, rosacea or other concerns.
Administrative, Design & Front Office
Mandy Pomo is our Front Office Manager in our Chelsea Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center | RegenCen location.
She lives in Dexter and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BS in Psychology.
Mandy has worked in a few different medical offices throughout her career and Aesthetics is by far her favorite.
She has been a small business owner for 7 years in her hometown and chose to close brick and mortar operations and do markets with the jewelry that she designs and creates. That led her to Chelsea Laser & Aesthetics as the Office Manager, now Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center.
Mandy enjoys aesthetics because we get the chance to see the happiness it provides patients. She finds the functional medicine side of RegenCen facinating and such a powerful addition to our aesthetic services.
In her free time, she enjoys creating jewelry for her business, Boxwood Collective, watching my son playing football and baseball on his high school teams, and spending time with her husband, daughter, son and friends.
Mandy is dedicated, innovative, and a hard worker along with being an amazing friendly face to see when you enter our Chelsea office. We're so grateful to have her on our team.
Brenna Sexton is excited to start offering lash and brow services at Chelsea Laser & Aesthetics. Brenna obtained her certification to become a body art technician, focusing on microblading as well as certifications in lash lifts and tints and eyebrow lamination and tints.
Brenna has always been interested in aesthetics and looks forward to enhancing her client’s beauty and to help them feel as GORGEOUS as they are.
In her free time Brenna enjoys designing and creating custom projects for her small business, spending time with family and friends, going up to her family lake house, and traveling.
