What patients say about their experience with Kayla
Get to know your provider Kayla
As an Aesthetic & Regenerative PCP, Kayla Patnode, PA-C, helps patients look refreshed, feel confident, and navigate the changes that come with aging through a personalized blend of aesthetic medicine, hormone optimization, and regenerative therapies. Inspired by an early mentorship with a provider specializing in aesthetics and menopause care, Kayla was drawn to a field where she could help patients feel better both inside and out. In this conversation, she shares her philosophy on natural-looking results, why regenerative medicine is changing the future of aesthetics, her favorite treatment combinations for graceful aging, and how confidence extends far beyond what we see in the mirror.
Tell is a little about yourself. Where do you live, and what do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I live in the Pinckney area and travel between our Chelsea and Ann Arbor locations. Outside of work, I competitively water ski and enjoy spending time outdoors with friends, family, and my dog. Hiking, disc golf, outdoor adventures, and tackling house projects are some of my favorite ways to recharge.
What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics and regenerative medicine?
While I was still an undergraduate student considering PA school, I shadowed a physician assistant working in aesthetics and regenerative medicine. Watching her help patients feel more confident in their appearance while also improving their quality of life through regenerative therapies, particularly during menopause, made me fall in love with the field.
Have you personally tried any of the treatments you offer? Which have been your favorites?
Absolutely. Dysport has been one of my personal favorites, especially because it has helped significantly with TMJ and jaw clenching. I also love Hydrafacials and our Signature Facial because they leave my skin feeling refreshed, clean, and glowing. I’ve also had PRF under-eye treatments and am looking forward to completing a full series.
What is your philosophy when it comes to aesthetic treatments?
My goal is to help a patient’s ideal self align with what they see in the mirror and how they feel in their body. I always prioritize the concerns that matter most to them while focusing on facial balance, skin health, hydration, and natural-looking rejuvenation.
How do you approach creating results that look natural and balanced?
Natural results come from using multiple treatment modalities together. At CSLC, we’re fortunate to have so many tools available, from skin rejuvenation treatments and regenerative therapies to Botox, fillers, and collagen-stimulating procedures. Combining these treatments allows us to address concerns at multiple levels and create balanced, subtle results.
What treatments do you specialize in or enjoy performing the most?
I love performing Botox and filler treatments. One of my favorite moments is handing a patient the mirror after a filler treatment and seeing their reaction to those immediate improvements. Recently, I’ve also fallen in love with skin rejuvenation treatments such as microneedling, Morpheus8, and IPL.
What are some of the most common concerns patients come to you with?
Many patients are concerned about jowling, lower-face heaviness, and the fine lines around the mouth. Often, a combination of treatments such as Morpheus8, filler, and Botox can work together beautifully to restore definition and create a refreshed appearance.
What is your favorite combination treatment plan for natural-looking results?
I love combining Botox and filler with skin rejuvenation treatments such as microneedling or Morpheus8. Botox softens wrinkles, filler restores volume, and skin rejuvenation improves texture and collagen production. Together, they create a very natural and comprehensive result.
Do you have a favorite patient success story?
One patient came to us struggling with severe discomfort related to vaginal dryness and tissue changes. Even routine exams had become extremely painful. Through a combination of hormone optimization, FormaV, MorpheusV, and vaginal estrogen therapy, she experienced life-changing improvements. She often becomes emotional when discussing her results because she never thought she would feel that comfortable again.
Celebrities and bad plastic surgery often make people nervous about treatments. What do you tell patients who worry about looking overdone?
I always tell patients that the best aesthetic work is invisible. If you’re looking for the exaggerated lips you can spot from across a football field, you’re looking in the wrong place. Our goal is to help patients look refreshed, rested, hydrated, and like the best version of themselves, not like someone else.
What do patients often misunderstand most about aesthetics?
Many people don’t realize that aesthetic treatments require maintenance. Botox lasts a few months. Collagen stimulation takes time. Skin rejuvenation isn’t a one-and-done process. As we age and move through stages like menopause, we’re naturally losing collagen, so maintenance treatments help protect and preserve those results long-term.
What makes CSLC’s approach different?
I think what sets CSLC apart is our ability to combine aesthetics and regenerative medicine under one roof. We can address concerns from multiple angles simultaneously, helping patients feel better physically while also improving skin quality, collagen production, and overall confidence. It’s a truly comprehensive approach.
How have you seen aesthetics evolve in recent years?
The field has shifted significantly toward regenerative aesthetics. Patients are increasingly looking for treatments that stimulate collagen, improve skin quality, and create natural results rather than relying solely on volume replacement.
What do you think the future of aesthetics will look like?
I believe we’ll continue moving toward regenerative solutions and combination treatments. While foundational treatments like Botox will always have a place, I think we’ll continue to see growth in therapies that harness the body’s own ability to repair, regenerate, and age gracefully.
What is your favorite part about being part of the CSLC team?
I love the variety of treatments we offer and the opportunity to help patients both look and feel their best. I also appreciate the teamwork within our offices and the fact that our providers genuinely believe in the treatments we offer. We use these services ourselves and proudly stand behind them.
What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence means being able to present the version of yourself that feels most authentic and aligned with who you are. When you feel comfortable in your skin and confident in how you carry yourself, that confidence naturally shines through.
What skincare product can you not live without?
Sunscreen. I am a huge sunscreen advocate and have been since childhood. I bring bottles of sunscreen on family vacations, friend trips, and outdoor adventures, and I’m always reminding everyone around me to reapply.
What treatment have you personally loved the most?
Dysport has been one of my personal favorites, particularly for TMJ and jaw clenching, and I also love PRF under-eye treatments and Hydrafacials for maintaining healthy, refreshed skin.
