Facial and skin rejuvenation at Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center
Whether you just want a Signature Facial or Hydrafacial for glowing skin or laser skin resurfacing for the ultimate skin refresh, we will help you on the path to more youthful, smooth, glowing skin:
What is skin rejuvenation?
Skin rejuvenation is the process of restoring a person’s skin via one or more skin rejuvenation treatments or procedures and is ideally done with a combination of healthy lifestyle changes (limiting sun exposure, taking supplements, applying medical-grade skincare, etc.). Skin rejuvenation can correct sun spots, various signs of aging, and textural irregularities such as acne scars, visible blood vessels, or pigmentation changes.
What is laser skin resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing (sometimes referred to as CO2 laser peel, lasabration, or laser vaporization) uses lasers to destroy layers of built-up skin cells and debris to reveal a fresher, younger-looking layer underneath. Many patients use skin resurfacing to firm aging skin, remove brown spots, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. However, laser skin resurfacing can remedy a number of skin imperfections.
At Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center, we offer Skinceuticals peels, VI Peels, Hydrafacials, microdermabrasion, SkinPen microneedling, PRF facials (the upgrade to the Vampire Facial), fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing, ResurFX nonablative laser skin resurfacing, InMode Morpheus8, Forma facials, Venus Legacy, and Lumecca and M22 Intense Pulsed Light.
Our skin rejuvenation treatments improve melasma, sunspots, age spots, rosacea, dry skin, aging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, scarring, stretch marks, congested and oily skin, collagen production, and lax, loose skin.
Skin Rejuvenation vs Laser Skin Resurfacing
Although these two terms may seem similar, skin rejuvenation isn’t synonymous with laser skin resurfacing. Skin rejuvenation includes many treatment and procedure options, laser skin resurfacing is only ONE method of skin rejuvenation. We offer many skin rejuvenation treatments at CSLC in Petoskey, Traverse City, and Naples.

Types of Skin Rejuvenation Treatments
Microneedling (also referred to as collagen induction therapy) is a cosmetic procedure in which a dermatologist, aesthetician, or aesthetic provider uses sterilized tiny needles in an automated pen to make puncture wounds in the epidermis and dermis, the first layer of skin.
These tiny puncture wounds prompt the body to produce collagen and elastin, which are lost during the aging process. New collagen gives skin a more youthful, smooth appearance. The depth of treatment is adjustable depending on a person’s skin thickness, downtime preference, and desired results.
Microneedling is generally painless with minimal downtime - a couple of days of pink, dry skin. It’s one of our first go-to treatments for acne scarring but it works well for many skin concerns.
Microneedling improves collagen, even more, when a patient's platelet-rich fibrin, the next-generation platelet-rich plasma, is infused into the skin during treatment. At Cosmetic Skin and Laser Center, we offer SkinPen microneedling in both Traverse City and Petoskey, Michigan and Naples and Boca Grande, Florida.
IPL or Intense Pulsed Light is a type of light therapy that’s used primarily to fade anything red or brown like age spots, brown spots, rosacea, birthmarks, and varicose veins. IPL can also be used to remove unwanted hair, although it’s not nearly as effective as laser hair removal.
IPL is a topical, non-invasive treatment that uses high-intensity pulses of light to improve the appearance of a patient’s skin. Unlike some other skin rejuvenation treatments, IPL requires no downtime, so a patient can be in and out in a lunch hour.
At Cosmetic Skin and Laser Center, we offer both Lumecca IPL and Lumenis M22 IPL for skin rejuvenation in both Traverse City and Petoskey, MI and Lumecca IPL in Naples, FL.
A Platelet-Rich Fibrin or PRF facial is a microneedling treatment that is performed in combination with PRF, which is the new take on platelet-rich plasma. Before microneedling is performed, the patient’s blood is drawn and placed in a specialized centrifuge to prepare the PRF. PRF is then topically applied and infused with the SkinPen microneedling device over the entire skin surface. PRF can also be injected into specific scars or skin depressions during the treatment.
PRF microneedling promotes faster healing, more collagen production, and improved elasticity compared to microneedling alone. PRF is the second generation of PRP (the “Vampire Facial”). PRF is also used to treat hair loss, deflated cheeks, under-eye hollows, vaginal dryness, and bladder control in our Traverse City, Petoskey, and Naples locations. The healing from a PRF Facial or PRF microneedling is very fast.
Venus Legacy and Forma are non-invasive treatments that use radiofrequency to firm and smooth a person’s skin. One session can take 15 to 40 minutes, depending on the treatment area. Many patients say that Venus Legacy and InMode Forma Facial treatments feel like a hot stone massage. Venus and Forma can be used in combination with Hydrafacials or IPL for a gentle way to more youthful skin.
ThermiSmooth is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment used to correct sagging or crepey skin. Similar to Venus Legacy and Forma Facials, ThermiSmooth uses heat to firm and smooth the skin but ThermiSmooth uses a very small tip that can be precise to smooth and firm eyelid skin, without surgery. Many patients use ThermiSmooth with dermal fillers as an alternative to blepharoplasty.

Types of Skin Resurfacing Treatments

TotalFX Laser is a fractionated CO2 laser treatment is a type of skin resurfacing treatment that works by punching out microscopic holes in the skin at controlled depths in a computerized pattern. The skin naturally heals itself over a few days and one treatment can offer up to a 50 percent improvement in the skin or take five to 10 years away.
The Ultrapulse CO2 laser can smooth wrinkles, correct sun damage, and reduce scars and stretch marks among other things. To ensure the procedure is comfortable, patients receive a combination of topical anesthetics and Pronox.
Unlike the skin rejuvenation treatments listed above, TotalFX requires five to seven days of downtime, where the skin looks burned and a layer of vaseline is required at all times. For patients who want dramatic skin rejuvenation with only one treatment, Total FX CO2 is generally the treatment of choice.
Morpheus8 pairs two proven technologies, microneedling and radiofrequency energy, to transform a person’s skin. Morpheus works by introducing needles at a customized depth and then releasing RF energy. The combination of both technologies generally offers more improvement than just microneedling or radiofrequency.
Morpheus8 is customized during each visit to smooth lines, tighten skin, and/or shrink fat in the jowls or under the chin simultaneously in the same treatment.
InMode Morpheus8 is generally performed in a series of three treatments and is an excellent choice to rejuvenate aging or scarred skin. Patients who choose Morpheus8 receive in-office nitrous oxide (also known as “laughing gas”) to ease any pain or discomfort felt during treatment. In Petoskey, Traverse City, and Naples, Cosmetic Skin and Laser Center offers Morpheus8 for facial skin rejuvenation, Morpheus Body to rejuvenate skin on the stomach, arms, and legs, and Morpheus Prime for to eliminate lip lines and smooth crepey skin around the eyes.
In addition, RegenCen, a separate division of Cosmetic Skin and Laser Center, offers MorpheusV to improve vaginal dryness and bladder control without hormones or surgery.

CryoCorrect is a treatment that is chosen to eliminate stubborn brown spots that are unlikely to fade with topical creams or Intense Pulsed Light. Within one to two treatments, age spots are generally gone. This freezing technology is more gentle than the cryo at dermatology offices and skin generally heals within five to seven days.
We offer CryoCorrect in Traverse City and Petoskey, MI and Naples and Boca Grande, FL.
ThermoClear is a very fine-tipped radiofrequency device that is used to destroy skin tags, sebaceous hyperplasia, spider capillaries, milia and cherry angiomas, or red moles. This super precise device immediately destroys lesions and can be used in hard-to-reach areas like around the eyes and nose.

Part of our Signature Facial, AHA peels are a type of chemical peel that uses alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) to remove the outermost layer of skin. Alpha hydroxy acids occur naturally in many fruits and they include glycolic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, mandelic acid and citric acid, and others. If your skin is prone to breakouts, blackheads, or dark spots an AHA peel might be your best choice. AHA peels are used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including dry skin, wrinkles, age spots and sun damage.
Your Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center Master Aesthetician will determine if an AHA peel would be the best choice for your skin in its current condition.
Part of our Signature Facial, BHA peels are a type of chemical peel that uses beta hydroxy acid (BHA), commonly called salicylic acid. BHAs have antibacterial properties and help to regulate sebum production, which makes them very beneficial for oily, acneic, and blemish-prone skin.
Your Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center Master Aesthetician will determine if an BHA peel would be the best choice for your skin in its current condition.
