Get to know your provider Paige

We sat down with Paige Timmermann, NP-C to talk about her transition from facial plastic surgery to aesthetic medicine, the patient transformations that continue to inspire her, and why she believes confidence often starts with helping patients feel comfortable in their own skin.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you enjoy outside of work?
I currently split my time between Florida and South Carolina and am excited to be joining the Bluffton community.

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time staying active. I love fitness, trying new workout classes, exploring local gyms, and spending time outdoors whenever possible.

I also have a rescue dog who keeps me busy and is always happy to join me for long walks.

What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
My path into aesthetics is actually very personal. When I was younger, I underwent emergency surgery to remove a tumor, which left me with a large scar on my abdomen. As a teenager, I became very self-conscious about it and eventually underwent scar revision with a plastic surgeon. The improvement was life-changing for my confidence.

That experience showed me how meaningful even small aesthetic changes can be. It helped me realize that aesthetics is about much more than appearance. It can help people feel comfortable, confident, and more like themselves.

How has your professional background shaped your approach to patient care?
I began my career as a nurse in neurosurgery before becoming a travel nurse.

Later, I worked in facial plastic surgery, where I served as both a PACU nurse and lead clinical nurse while assisting with laser treatments and aesthetic procedures.

Those experiences gave me a strong clinical foundation while also exposing me to the artistic side of aesthetic medicine.

Today, I combine both perspectives by focusing on safety, patient education, and individualized treatment planning.

Have you personally tried any of the treatments you offer?
Absolutely. I think it’s important to understand treatments from the patient perspective.

I’ve been receiving neuromodulators for years and continue to love the preventative and restorative benefits they provide.

I also enjoy subtle lip filler and recently began incorporating Sculptra into my own treatment plan. It’s been exciting to see improvements in skin quality and collagen stimulation firsthand.

What’s your philosophy when it comes to aesthetic treatments?
I take what I call a skin-first approach. While injectables can absolutely play an important role, I believe healthy, vibrant skin is the foundation of every great aesthetic outcome.

Whether we’re talking about neuromodulators, collagen stimulators, microneedling, or skincare, my goal is always to improve overall skin health while helping patients achieve natural-looking results.

How do you approach creating results that look natural and balanced?
Every patient is different, which means every treatment plan should be different too.

I spend a lot of time during consultations learning about a patient’s goals, preferences, and past experiences. Looking at facial balance, anatomy, and overall harmony allows me to create customized treatment plans that enhance someone’s natural features rather than changing them.

What treatments do you enjoy performing most?
I love performing lip filler when it’s done conservatively and thoughtfully. A subtle enhancement can create beautiful balance throughout the face while still looking completely natural.

I’ve also become increasingly passionate about Sculptra because of its ability to stimulate collagen and improve overall skin quality over time.

What are some of the most common concerns patients come to you with?
In Southwest Florida especially, I see a lot of concerns related to sun exposure. Patients frequently come in looking to improve pigmentation, redness, texture, dehydration, and overall skin quality.

Many patients are also interested in softening fine lines and wrinkles, but they want to do so without looking frozen or overdone.

What’s your favorite treatment combination for natural-looking results?
For someone who is new to aesthetics, one of my favorite starting points is combining neuromodulators with a series of microneedling treatments.

It’s a simple but powerful combination that helps soften expression lines, improve skin texture, boost collagen production, and create a healthy, radiant glow without dramatically changing someone’s appearance.

What’s one patient success story that has stayed with you?
One patient in her 80s came to see me because she was bothered by deep lines around her mouth. She had never tried filler before and was understandably nervous.

After a thorough consultation, we created a conservative treatment plan focused on restoring support around the mouth. The improvement was remarkable. Her results looked natural, refreshed, and softer without looking overdone.

What stood out most wasn’t the before-and-after photos… it was how excited she felt afterward. Seeing her confidence grow reminded me why I love what I do.

Celebrities and bad plastic surgery often make people nervous about treatments. What do you tell patients?
I always remind patients that the results they notice most are often examples of overtreatment or poor treatment planning.

At Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center, our approach is intentionally conservative.

We focus on facial balance, long-term outcomes, and treatments that support your natural features. My goal is never for someone to look different. It’s for them to look refreshed, healthy, and confident.

What do patients often misunderstand most about aesthetics?
Many people don’t fully understand the difference between neuromodulators, fillers, lasers, and skin rejuvenation treatments.

It’s actually very common for patients to confuse Botox and filler or to assume all aesthetic treatments create the same result.

A big part of my job is education, helping patients understand their options and creating realistic expectations so they feel informed and comfortable.

What’s one piece of advice you give every new patient?
Take your time, ask questions, and choose your provider carefully.

You should never feel rushed into a treatment. The right provider will educate you, answer your questions, and help you make decisions that align with your goals.

Building trust is one of the most important parts of the aesthetic journey.

What makes Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center different?
One of the things I appreciate most about CSLC is the commitment to education and clinical excellence.

The organization invests heavily in training, innovation, and staying at the forefront of aesthetic and regenerative medicine. That support allows providers to continue growing while delivering the best possible experience for patients.

What excited you most about the future of regenerative aesthetics and medicine?
The future is incredibly exciting because we now have more tools than ever to help people feel their best as they age.

From peptides and hormone optimization to regenerative therapies and advanced skin treatments, we’re helping patients improve energy, recovery, confidence, and overall quality of life.

The focus is shifting from simply treating symptoms to helping people thrive.

What does confidence mean to you?
To me, confidence is having enough belief in yourself to keep learning, keep growing, and be willing to put yourself out there, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Confidence isn’t arrogance. It’s being secure enough to ask questions, stay curious, and trust yourself throughout the process.

What’s a skincare product you can’t live without?
Prescription tretinoin. It has completely transformed my skin and remains one of my favorite long-term investments for healthy aging and skin maintenance.

What’s a beauty myth you love busting?
One of the biggest myths I hear is that Sculptra prevents people from getting a facelift in the future.

That’s simply not true. When performed appropriately, collagen-stimulating treatments can be an excellent part of a long-term aesthetic plan and do not prevent future surgical procedures.

What’s your favorite coffee order?
An iced oat milk latte with sugar-free vanilla.

What’s your dream destination for rest and recharge?
The South of France.

I love the slower pace, beautiful scenery, incredible food, and the opportunity to completely disconnect and recharge.
