Why patients still struggle to find the right care, even now

Founder of Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center Courtney lo, PA

Twenty-five years ago, I founded CSLC as a destination for people who wanted to age well — and who wanted to be proactive about their health.

At the time, aesthetic medicine was just beginning to emerge. New treatments were becoming available, but it was hard to know where to go, what actually worked, and who to trust. Plastic surgeons focused on surgery. A few dermatologists offered lasers. No one specialized in guiding patients through the full spectrum of aesthetic care.

Patients were left to figure it out on their own.

Care has expanded, but it’s still fragmented

Why most medspas and clinics still fall short for patients seeking long-term results.

Fast forward 25 years, and on the surface, everything looks different. There are thousands of medspas. New devices, injectables, and regenerative treatments appear constantly.

And yet, for many patients, the core problem hasn’t changed.

Care is still fragmented.

Most practitioners work in silos, offering a limited set of treatments rather than guiding patients through a thoughtful, integrated aesthetic plan. Patients struggle to understand what they actually need, when they need it, and how different treatments work together over time.

What they’re really looking for is guidance.

Longevity medicine is emerging, and patients are still searching for care

Longevity medicine is evolving as quickly as aesthetics once did. It attracts the same type of patient — proactive, engaged, and focused on staying strong, healthy, and full of vitality.

These patients don’t want to be normal for their age. They want to be optimal for their age.

They want prevention. They want to expand their healthspan. They want to feel good, function well, and stay active in their lives for as long as possible.

There’s no shortage of information. Books, podcasts, authors, and influencers promote supplements and protocols every day.

What patients still struggle to find is actual care and guidance— a consult-first model with clinicians who can integrate hormone health and optimization, metabolic health, regenerative medicine, and aesthetic care into a real, personalized medical plan.

Why CSLC and RegenCen exist

That gap is why CSLC and RegenCen exist.

We believe aesthetics and longevity belong together. They serve the same patient and require the same kind of thinking: integrated, evidence-based, and deeply individualized.

When care is coordinated across skin health, hormone optimization, metabolic balance, and regenerative medicine, patients don’t just look better. They live better.

This isn’t about chasing trends or doing more treatments. It’s about helping people expand the years they live well, with fewer fractures, less cognitive decline, and fewer cardiovascular events.

That is the work we’re committed to.

And it’s the future of medicine as we see it.

If this perspective resonates with you, a consultation is often the best place to start. It’s an opportunity to talk through goals, timing, and what integrated care could look like for you — thoughtfully and without pressure.
