Get to know your provider Stephanie
Natural results begin with understanding the whole picture. We sat down with Stephanie Crum, PA-C, Aesthetic & Regenerative PCP at Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center in Naples and North Naples, to talk about why treating the cause, not just the symptom, creates more natural outcomes, how artistry and anatomy come together in aesthetic medicine, and why healthy skin is always the foundation of beautiful results.
Tell us a little about yourself. What do you enjoy outside of work?
I live in Naples with my husband and our one-eyed cat.
Outside of work, I love traveling, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, baking, practicing yoga, and recently started taking pottery classes. I enjoy learning new things and finding creative outlets, which honestly fits perfectly with aesthetic medicine.
What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
I’ve always been interested in skin health, aesthetics, and wellness. What I love most about aesthetic medicine is that it combines clinical science with creativity.
Every treatment plan is personalized, and it’s incredibly rewarding to help patients feel more confident while still looking like themselves. Natural results are always the goal.
I want people to hear, “You look healthy and refreshed,” not, “What did you have done?”
How has your medical background shaped your approach?
Before aesthetics, I worked in interventional pain management, performing joint injections, muscle injections, and minimally invasive spine procedures.
That experience gave me a deep understanding of anatomy, precision, and procedural medicine, which naturally translated into aesthetic injectables and facial assessment.
Have you personally tried the treatments you offer?
Absolutely. Some of my favorites are Dysport, IPL, microneedling, and maintaining a consistent medical-grade skincare routine.
I’ve found that great skin starts with consistency, and I always recommend treatments that I’ve personally experienced and believe in.
What’s your philosophy when it comes to aesthetic treatments?
I always focus on treating the cause, not just the symptom.
For example, many patients come in concerned about their smile lines, but those lines are often the result of volume loss higher in the cheeks.
Rather than simply filling a line, I like to educate patients about facial anatomy and create a treatment plan that addresses what’s actually causing the concern. During every consultation, we perform a full-face assessment and discuss good, better, and best treatment options based on each patient’s goals, budget, downtime, and timeline.
What treatments do you love performing most?
Injectables are definitely my favorite, especially dermal fillers. Despite some of the misconceptions surrounding filler today, when it’s performed thoughtfully, it creates beautiful, natural-looking results.
I also love regenerative injectables because they pair so well with traditional aesthetic treatments and help improve long-term skin health.
What’s your favorite treatment combination?
My ideal treatment plan always starts with building a healthy foundation. If time, budget, and lifestyle allow, I like beginning with skin rejuvenation treatments like Morpheus8 or microneedling to improve skin quality and collagen production.
From there, regenerative treatments like Sculptra can build collagen over time, with fillers and neuromodulators serving as the finishing touches. Every patient is different, but combining skin rejuvenation, regenerative medicine, and injectables consistently creates the most natural-looking outcomes.
Do you have a favorite patient success story?
Some of my favorite moments are helping patients who are nervous about aesthetic treatments finally feel comfortable enough to begin.
Seeing someone go from being hesitant to trusting the process, loving their results, and realizing that aesthetic medicine doesn’t have to look overdone is incredibly rewarding. Helping patients build confidence over time is one of the best parts of my job.
What do you tell patients who worry about looking overdone?
Every treatment plan is individualized. The results you see on social media aren’t representative of what thoughtful aesthetic medicine looks like. My job is to understand your anatomy, your goals, and your natural features so we can create results that enhance, rather than change, your appearance.
We’re also very mindful of avoiding “perception drift,” where patients gradually lose sight of what looks natural. Our focus is always healthy aging, facial balance, and preserving what makes you uniquely you.
Has there been a treatment that’s surprised you with its results?
Microneedling continues to impress me. It may not be the newest technology, but it consistently delivers.
Patients notice improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall skin quality, and it’s one of those treatments that almost everyone is happy they invested in.
What makes CSLC different than other med spas?
One of the biggest differences is our commitment to education. Through CSLC University, every provider receives extensive training, and that learning never stops. We collaborate constantly across all of our locations, sharing techniques, treatment plans, and ideas.
When patients see one provider at CSLC, they’re really benefiting from the knowledge and experience of an entire team. I also love our collaborative consultation model because every patient benefits from multiple experienced perspectives.
How have you seen aesthetics evolve over the last 5 years?
The industry has shifted dramatically toward natural-looking results. Patients are much more interested in collagen stimulation, regenerative treatments, skin quality, and healthy aging than they were even a few years ago.
The “undetectable injectable” approach has become the standard, and I think that’s a wonderful evolution.
What do you think the future of aesthetics looks like?
I think we’ll continue focusing more on prevention and regenerative medicine.
Instead of waiting until someone needs a large amount of correction, we’ll continue helping patients maintain healthy skin and collagen earlier in life so they can age more naturally over time.
What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence is feeling good about yourself and putting your best face forward. It’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin and knowing you’re presenting the best version of yourself every day.
What’s one skincare myth you love busting?
That everyone needs a complicated 12-step skincare routine. Most people simply need the right products with the right ingredients for their skin concerns.
A thoughtful, science-backed routine is usually much more effective than using dozens of products.
What’s one skincare product you can’t live without?
Sunscreen, without question. Wearing sunscreen every single day is the best thing you can do for preventing premature aging, protecting collagen, and reducing your risk of skin cancer. Prevention is always easier than correction.
Dream destination for rest and recharge?
Venice, Italy. My husband and I visited during our honeymoon, and it’s still my favorite place in the world.
Between the canals, the history, and the slower pace, it’s the perfect place to relax and recharge.
