What patients say about their experience with Stephanie
Get to know your provider Stephanie
We sat down with Stephanie Schultz, NP-C to talk about her work as an aesthetic and regenerative medicine provider in East Lansing, why she believes the best aesthetic treatments should never announce themselves, and how combining regenerative medicine with thoughtful aesthetic care helps patients look refreshed, feel healthier, and age on their own terms.
Can you tell us a little about yourself and what you enjoy outside of work?
I’ve spent my career caring for patients through many different stages of life, from cardiac nursing and primary care to aesthetics and regenerative medicine.
I live in Mid-Michigan with my husband, our two children, and our dogs.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my family, whether we’re gardening, camping, riding side-by-sides, or simply enjoying nature.
I also enjoy cooking, creating things, and anything related to wellness and healthy living.
What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
I’ve always been drawn to the combination of science, artistry, and human connection.
Aesthetic medicine allows me to blend medical knowledge with creativity while helping patients feel like the best version of themselves. Watching someone’s confidence grow when they finally feel like their appearance reflects how vibrant they feel inside is incredibly rewarding.
How has your background shaped your approach to patient care?
My years in nursing and family medicine taught me to look at the whole person rather than focusing on a single concern.
I bring that same philosophy into aesthetics by emphasizing safety, education, individualized care, and long-term outcomes instead of chasing quick fixes or temporary trends.
Have you personally experienced the treatments you offer?
Absolutely. I think it’s important to understand treatments from both the provider’s and patient’s perspective.
Some of my personal favorites include neuromodulators, collagen-stimulating treatments, IPL, and regenerative therapies that gradually improve skin quality and support healthier aging.
What’s your philosophy when it comes to aesthetic treatments?
My philosophy is simple: less is more.
The best aesthetic work shouldn’t announce itself.
I want patients to hear, “You look rested,” “You look healthy,” or “Did you do something different?” rather than, “What did you have done?”
How do you create natural, balanced results?
I focus on facial harmony, preserving natural movement, and respecting each person’s unique anatomy.
My goal is for patients to still look completely like themselves, just refreshed, healthier, and more confident.
What treatments do you enjoy performing the most?
I especially enjoy regenerative aesthetics and combination treatments.
PRF, collagen-stimulating therapies, microneedling, energy-based treatments, and neuromodulators complement one another beautifully to improve skin health while maintaining subtle, natural-looking results.
How do regenerative medicine and aesthetics work together?
Traditional aesthetic treatments address visible concerns, while regenerative medicine supports the body’s ability to repair and rebuild from within.
Combining the two creates healthier skin, longer-lasting results, and a much more comprehensive approach to aging well.
What concerns do patients most often come to you with?
The biggest concern I hear is the fear of looking overdone. Most patients simply want subtle improvements that allow them to age gracefully without changing who they are.
What’s your favorite combination treatment?
One of my favorite combinations is a VI Peel paired with Botox. The VI Peel improves skin tone, texture, pigmentation, and overall radiance, while Botox softens expression lines and helps maintain a refreshed appearance.
Together, they create beautiful, natural-looking results.
I also love treatment plans that combine PRF, collagen stimulation, and energy-based technologies because addressing skin from multiple angles often creates the most noticeable long-term improvements.
What do patients often misunderstand about aesthetic treatments?
Many people believe Botox freezes your face or that filler automatically creates an unnatural appearance.
In reality, when treatments are performed thoughtfully and conservatively, they simply enhance your natural features while preserving expression and facial movement.
What’s one piece of advice you give every new patient?
Honestly, what are you waiting for?
You don’t have to jump into a complicated treatment plan.
We can start with skincare, a little Botox, collagen stimulation, or simply building a plan for the future.
Aesthetic medicine is a journey, not an overnight transformation, and the best results are built gradually over time.
What’s one patient story that has stayed with you?
One experience I’ll never forget involved a patient with Bell’s palsy who was incredibly self-conscious about facial asymmetry.
At her two-week follow-up after treatment, she became emotional and told me, “I don’t feel like I look like a mutant anymore. I feel human again.”
That moment reminded me that aesthetics isn’t about vanity. Sometimes it’s about restoring confidence, dignity, and helping someone recognize themselves in the mirror again.
Many patients worry about looking overdone. What do you tell them?
I remind patients that the celebrity results they notice are often examples of too much treatment or treatment that wasn’t individualized.
Good aesthetic work shouldn’t be obvious.
My goal is for people to notice that you look refreshed, healthy, and confident, not that you’ve had cosmetic work done.
Is there a treatment that continues to impress you?
Regenerative treatments continue to amaze me. Watching the body’s own healing response improve skin quality, stimulate collagen production, and restore confidence in such a natural way is one of the most exciting parts of aesthetic medicine today.
What makes Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center different?
Our approach is comprehensive. We don’t simply treat isolated concerns.
We combine regenerative medicine, aesthetics, wellness, and individualized care to create treatment plans that fit each patient’s goals, lifestyle, and comfort level.
How is CSLC different from other med spas?
We prioritize relationships, education, and long-term results over trends and quick fixes.
Every patient receives a personalized treatment plan designed specifically for them, and we take the time to truly listen before making recommendations.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the CSLC team?
I love working alongside a team that values education, innovation, collaboration, and genuinely caring for patients.
Everyone shares the same goal of helping people feel their absolute best, both inside and out.
How have you seen aesthetics evolve over the part 5 years?
The field has shifted away from dramatic transformations and toward prevention, regenerative medicine, and healthier skin. More patients are seeking authenticity, longevity, and natural-looking results rather than chasing temporary trends.
What excites you most about the future of aesthetics?
The advances happening in regenerative medicine are incredibly exciting.
Biostimulators, platelet-based therapies, energy-based devices, and increasingly personalized treatment plans will continue helping patients age naturally and confidently.
Where do you see aesthetic medicine heading over the next decade?
I believe we’ll continue moving toward treatments that support the body’s own ability to repair and regenerate.
Patients are increasingly looking for preventative care that promotes healthy aging rather than dramatic change, and I think that trend will continue.
What drew you to Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center?
I was drawn to CSLC because of its commitment to thoughtfully combining regenerative medicine with aesthetics.
That philosophy aligns perfectly with my belief that confidence begins with feeling healthy, heard, and cared for.
What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence isn’t about perfection.
It’s about feeling comfortable in your own skin and showing up authentically in every part of your life.
What’s one skincare product you can’t live without?
If I had to choose, it would be SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore paired with Colorescience sunscreen.
Triple Lipid Restore helps strengthen the skin barrier and maintain healthy, radiant skin, while daily sunscreen remains the single best anti-aging product we have.
What’s your favorite coffee order?
A salted caramel latte, extra hot. It’s cozy, comforting, and always worth the wait.
What’s your dream destination to recharge?
An all-inclusive, celiac-friendly beach resort where my family can enjoy sunshine, adventure, great food, and time together. Beautiful beaches, fun activities, and uninterrupted family time are my perfect way to recharge.
