Natural results are about enhancing who you are, not changing who you are. We sat down with Caroline Hughes, PA-C, Regional Clinical Lead and Aesthetic & Regenerative PCP at Cosmetic Skin & Laser Center in Wellington, Palm Beach, and Hobe Sound, to talk about why healthy skin is the foundation of beautiful results, how regenerative aesthetics is changing the future of aging, and why confidence begins with investing in yourself.

Tell us a little about yourself. What do you enjoy outside of work?
I recently moved to West Palm Beach and have been loving spending more time outdoors.

Pilates has become a huge part of my routine. I practice six days a week, and it’s how I like to start my mornings. It keeps me grounded and sets a positive tone for the rest of my day.

I also love traveling, exploring new places, and staying busy with family and friends.

What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
One of the most rewarding parts of this field is helping patients realize they don’t have to simply accept something that’s always bothered them.

We all have insecurities, and being able to tell someone, “Yes, there’s something we can do about that,” is incredibly fulfilling.

My goal is always to enhance each person’s natural features so they still look like themselves, just more refreshed and confident.

How has your background shaped your approach?
Before joining CSLC, I spent four years in cosmetic dermatology and also worked in plastic surgery.

That experience gave me a strong foundation in skin health, facial anatomy, and aesthetic procedures while reinforcing the importance of creating balanced, natural-looking results.

Have you personally tried the treatments you offer?
I’ve tried just about everything we offer, and I think that’s one of the best ways to educate patients because I can share my own experience and results.

Recently, Sculptra has become one of my favorite treatments after losing weight with GLP-1 therapy. It restored volume naturally and beautifully.

I also love Radiesse in the neck. It softened my “tech neck” lines and made such a noticeable difference.

What’s your philosophy when it comes to aesthetic trearments?
Everything I do is centered around creating natural, undetectable results. I never want someone to look different. I want people to notice that you look healthy, refreshed, and well rested without being able to pinpoint exactly why.

I also believe in building for the future by focusing on collagen stimulation and long-term skin health instead of chasing quick fixes.

What treatments do you enjoy performing most?
Lip filler is one of my favorite treatments because every patient is completely different. Every lip shape requires a customized approach, different techniques, and different products.

It’s one of the most artistic treatments we perform, and I love creating results that complement each patient’s natural features.

What are some of the most common concerns patients come to you with?
One of the biggest questions I hear is, “If I start, do I have to keep doing this forever?”

I reassure patients that aesthetic treatments don’t make them look worse if they stop. In many cases, treatments that stimulate collagen actually leave them better off than where they started.

Many patients also worry about looking overdone, which gives us the opportunity to show them what thoughtful, natural aesthetic medicine really looks like.

What’s your favorite treatment combination?
I love building a strong foundation with consistent Botox or Dysport combined with Sculptra to stimulate collagen production.

Once the skin and supporting structures are healthier, we can use small amounts of filler where appropriate. I always prioritize skin health and collagen before adding volume.

Do you have a favorite patient success story?
Some of my favorite moments happen when patients see how much gradual improvements can add up over time.

I’ll often compare before-and-after photos months later, and they’re amazed by how much healthier, brighter, and more refreshed they look. Those moments reinforce that consistency truly pays off.

Has there been a treatment that’s surprised you with its results?
Morpheus8 continues to impress me. I’ve used it personally after liposuction and weight loss, and I’ve seen incredible improvements in skin tightening and contour.

It’s one of those treatments that continues improving over several months, and the long-term collagen stimulation makes a remarkable difference.

What’s one piece of advice you give every new patient?
It’s easy to become overwhelmed by all the treatment options available today.

I always encourage patients to focus on what truly bothers them first. We can prioritize your goals and build a thoughtful plan over time. You don’t have to do everything at once.

Patients today are embracing healthier, more natural-looking results. The focus has shifted away from dramatic transformations toward preserving muscle, building collagen, maintaining healthy skin, and aging gracefully.

It’s exciting to see wellness and aesthetics becoming more closely connected.

What do you think the next 5-10 years will look like in aesthetic medicine?
I believe regenerative treatments will continue leading the industry.

We’ll see more collagen-stimulating injectables, PRF therapies, and maintenance-based care that helps patients preserve their results over time instead of relying on larger correctional treatments later.

What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence means feeling comfortable in your own skin and being proud of the effort you’ve invested in yourself.
