We sat down with Carly to discuss her journey in aesthetics, the treatments she loves most, and why building a strong foundation is the key to beautiful results.
Tell us a little about yourself. Where do you live and what do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and I’m a mom to a toddler, so when I’m not at the office, I’m usually spending time with him. We love exploring parks around Ann Arbor, spending time outdoors, and trying new recipes. I also enjoy reading and painting whenever I can find the time. Ann Arbor feels like a homecoming for me since I attended the University of Michigan and have lived and worked in Grand Rapids, Traverse City, and Nashville before returning here.
What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
I’ve always loved working with people and helping them feel confident in their own skin.
Early in my career, I worked for a plastic surgeon in Grand Rapids before joining CSLC in Traverse City.
Later, I joined InMode’s National Training Team, where I continue to educate providers across the country on aesthetic, women’s health, and regenerative technologies. Throughout every step of my career, the goal has remained the same: helping people look and feel their best.
Have you personally tried any of the treatments you offer? Which are your favorites?
Absolutely.
My favorites are IPL, microneedling, and Morpheus8. I also love Hydrafacial treatments. For me, the combination of IPL and Morpheus8 is especially effective for improving overall skin tone, texture, and rejuvenation.
What’s your philosophy when it comes to aesthetic treatments?
I believe every treatment plan should start with understanding a patient’s goals and creating a personalized roadmap that aligns with their needs, lifestyle, and budget.
Collaboration is also important. I love working alongside our injectors and regenerative providers to create comprehensive treatment plans that deliver the best possible outcomes.
How do you approach creating results that look natural and balanced?
Natural results come from taking a holistic approach.
The best outcomes rarely come from a single treatment. Instead, they come from thoughtfully combining treatments over time and building a plan that addresses skin health, aging concerns, and long-term maintenance.
What treatments do you specialize in or enjoy performing the most?
My specialty is working with energy-based devices, particularly IPL, Morpheus8, Forma, and combination therapies.
I love combining treatments because they often produce better results than a single modality alone.
Treatments like RegenGlo are great examples of how layering technologies can create meaningful skin rejuvenation.
What are some of the most common concerns patients come to you with?
Many patients feel their skin looks dull, dehydrated, tired, or older than they feel on the inside. Skin tone, texture, pigmentation, and overall skin quality are common concerns.
That’s why I’m such a strong believer in combining professional treatments with medical-grade skincare at home.
Celebrities and bad plastic surgery often make people nervous about treatments. What do you tell patients who worry about looking overdone?
When people have unlimited resources and nobody tells them “no,” it’s easy to end up with results that don’t look natural.
At CSLC, our philosophy is completely different. We focus on gradual improvements that help patients look refreshed, not different. The best aesthetic results should never announce themselves.
What do you think patients misunderstand most about aesthetics?
Many people assume all treatments are essentially the same.
They may think Botox and filler are interchangeable, or that all microneedling treatments produce identical results.
A large part of my role is educating patients about the differences and helping them understand which options are best for their individual goals.
Is there a treatment that has surprised you most with its results?
CoolPeel has really impressed me.
After experiencing it myself, I was amazed by how much it improved my skin tone, texture, and sun damage with relatively minimal downtime. For patients who want healthier-looking skin and less dependence on makeup, it’s an excellent option.
How is CSLC different from other med spas?
One of the things I value most about CSLC is our commitment to ongoing education and clinical excellence.
We’re constantly evaluating new technologies, treatments, and protocols while staying grounded in proven, evidence-based care. That commitment benefits both our providers and our patients.
How have you seen aesthetics evolve over the last 5 years?
Like many industries, aesthetics experiences trends.
What I appreciate about CSLC is that we don’t chase them. We focus on treatments that have stood the test of time and consistently produce great results. Healthy skin, collagen stimulation, and natural outcomes never go out of style.
What excites you most about the future of regenerative aesthetics?
I’m excited to see how regenerative treatments continue to evolve. Helping the body stimulate its own collagen production and improve skin quality naturally is an exciting direction for the industry and one that aligns perfectly with where patients want to go.
What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence means being able to show up as your best self, even in situations where you feel vulnerable or uncertain. It’s easy to feel confident around familiar people.
True confidence comes from walking into new situations, holding your head high, and trusting yourself.
What’s a skincare product you can’t live without?
A tinted sunscreen.
Right now, I’m loving Colorescience. It provides excellent protection while helping skin look polished and even-toned.
What’s your favorite coffee order?
A vanilla cinnamon latte.
What is your dream destination for rest and recharge?
Anywhere tropical with a warm breeze and beautiful scenery. Rural Costa Rica is high on my list.
