Get to know your provider Alicia

We sat down with Alicia Gronowski, PA-C, to talk about her work as an Aesthetic & Regenerative PCP in Fenton, her approach to helping patients feel their best from the inside out, and why she believes the future of aesthetics is becoming increasingly regenerative.

Can you tell us a little about yourself? Where do you live, and what do you enjoy outside of work?
I live in the Metro Detroit area, and I love spending time with my family and friends. I am also obsessed with my dog, Rusty, who is a Goldendoodle.

One of my favorite things to do is go up north in Michigan. I love spending time on the water, being outside, and just enjoying everything Northern Michigan has to offer.

What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
A large part of what I do is hormone optimization and helping people feel good on the inside. I get to see firsthand what improving how someone feels can do for their quality of life.

Aesthetics felt like a natural extension of that. There is something really rewarding about helping someone feel fantastic internally and then helping their outward appearance reflect that same confidence. I love being able to bring those two sides of care together.

What was your medical background before joining CSLC and RegenCen?
Before coming here, I worked in urgent care and primary care. I also had experience with hormone replacement therapy and peptides, so regenerative medicine was already a significant part of my background.

Have you personally tried any of the treatments you offer?
Yes! On the regenerative side, I love treatments like NAD+, BFit, and injectable therapies. For aesthetics, Botox is definitely a favorite, and when it comes to skin rejuvenation, I really love microneedling.

What is your philosophy when it comes to aesthetic treatments?
One of the biggest concerns I hear from patients is that they do not want to look fake, overdone, or unlike themselves. That aligns very closely with my own philosophy.

The goal is for you to still look like you, just refreshed and more confident. We are not trying to change someone’s appearance. We are looking at what is already there and determining what can help them feel their best.

How do you approach creating natural, balanced results?
Nothing should ever be cookie cutter. We have so many different treatment modalities available, and they all accomplish different things.

Every patient has different anatomy, concerns, goals, and needs, so their treatment plan should reflect that. What is appropriate for one person may be completely different from what I recommend for the next.

What aesthetic treatments do you especially enjoy performing?
Neuromodulators are probably what I enjoy most. I love that treatments like Botox can create subtle changes that help someone look refreshed while still preserving what makes them look like themselves.

What are some of the most common aesthetic concerns patients bring to you?
A lot of patients come in because they are beginning to notice the overall aging process. They may feel like their skin looks dull or that they simply do not look quite like themselves anymore.

Fine lines are common, and jowling is a really big concern for many patients. Often, it is less about one isolated feature and more about wanting their overall appearance to feel refreshed again.

What do you tell patients who are worried aesthetic treatments will make them look overdone?
I remind them that aesthetic treatment is not one-size-fits-all. What another person needs has nothing to do with what you necessarily need.

Your treatment plan should be based on your concerns, anatomy, and goals. We are not following a formula or trying to create the same look on every patient. That personalization is a huge part of keeping results natural.

What do patients often misunderstand about Botox and filler?
One of the biggest things is simply understanding the difference between the two and what each can accomplish.

Patients may also assume that if a particular area bothers them, the solution is to put product directly into that area. That is not always the case. Sometimes treating another area can create better balance or more effectively address the concern.

That is why it is important to first understand what the patient wants to improve and then determine which treatment and placement make the most sense.

Is there a treatment that has surprised you with its results?
Ultherapy initially gave me some hesitation, but I have now seen several patients achieve really impressive results with it.

I especially like what I have seen when Ultherapy is incorporated into a more comprehensive aesthetic plan rather than viewed as a stand-alone treatment. Combining different modalities strategically can make a significant difference.

What makes CLSC different from other med spas?
We really take the time to get to know the patient and understand why they are coming in.

Someone may initially say, “This line bothers me,” but when you actually sit down and talk with them, there can be much more behind that concern. We want to understand the full picture rather than simply treating the area they pointed to.

Instead of saying, “You want Botox here? Let’s do it,” we take the time to understand the person, their goals, and what we believe will actually help them get there.

What do you think the next 5-10 years or aesthetic medicine will look like?
I think aesthetics is moving more and more toward a regenerative approach.

Patients are increasingly interested in treatments that can benefit them over the long term, including approaches that stimulate their own collagen and work from within. I think we will continue to see greater emphasis on improving and preserving what the body naturally has rather than relying solely on replacing volume.

What does confidence mean to you?
Confidence comes from both the inside and the outside. First, it is about feeling good in your own skin and being comfortable with who you are.

It is also about believing in what you stand for and what you practice every day. For me, having a genuine passion for what I do is another part of that. When you believe in what you are doing and feel good about who you are, that confidence carries into the rest of your life.

What is your dream destination for rest and recharge?
Aruba! We recently went there for our honeymoon and had the time of our lives. I would go back any chance I could get.
